About the TRW Consult Internship Programme

The TRW Consult Internship Programme is one of the organisation’s flagship human-capacity development initiatives, designed to equip young professionals with practical skills in communication, writing, and digital technology. Running twice a year — in January and July — the programme serves as a structured learning ecosystem where emerging talent is trained, mentored, and shaped into capable contributors to today’s knowledge-driven economy.

Since its inception in 2022, the programme has produced hundreds of trained Nigerian youths, many of whom have gone on to work in media, academia, corporate communications, technology, entrepreneurship, and social impact organisations. Its long-term vision goes beyond classroom instruction; it seeks to cultivate disciplined thinkers, versatile communicators, and ethically grounded professionals who can thrive across diverse work environments.

A Two-Phase Structure Built for Depth

The internship is delivered in two distinct phases, each designed to build progressively stronger competence:

1. Training & Practical Sessions (First 4 Months)

Interns participate in instructor-led classes, collaborative learning exercises, writing drills, and guided assessments. Sessions are conducted virtually on Zoom and WhatsApp, making the programme accessible across regions. The curriculum is delivered by seasoned trainers from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The Digital Technology Skills Track introduces participants to:

This first phase builds confidence, develops expressive clarity, and introduces practical tools that interns can apply immediately.

2. Apprenticeship & Professional Drill (6 Months)

Interns who successfully complete the training phase advance into an intensive six-month apprenticeship. This stage deepens their expertise through:

  • Specialised niche development

  • Real project assignments

  • Professional feedback loops

  • Exposure to workplace culture

  • Training in discipline, time management, and personal effectiveness

Apprentices learn to meet deadlines, work in teams, communicate professionally, and adapt their writing or technical skills to real organisational needs.

How Sponsors Support the Vision

While participation costs nothing, the programme welcomes sponsors who wish to contribute to its long-term sustainability. Support may take the following forms:

  • Brand the Internship: Sponsor one or both streams and have the programme promoted in the sponsor’s organisational name during the sponsored period.

  • Sponsor an Intern: Cover participation costs for one or more interns. Sponsors receive vetted bio profiles to help select beneficiaries.

  • Sponsor Facilitator Honorarium: Support the remuneration of the experts who teach and mentor the interns.

  • Adopt an Apprentice: Provide customised support for one or more apprentices during the drill phase, preparing them for research roles, writing placements, or corporate engagements.
